Four picks were no problem for Marine Lounge quarterback Harry Patterson on Sunday as his three touchdown tosses were enough to power the team past the Falcons 18-12.
Patterson connected with Adam Anderson for two scores and hooked up with Jeff Griffin for the other during the Corner Brook Coors Light Touch Football League win at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Defensively, Glen Aucoin was strong for the victors in a two-sack day, while Doug Miller registered an interception.
Josh Skinner threw one pick in the losing cause, while both Falcons touchdowns came on the ground with Ryley Nadon and Josh Skinner each running one in.
Skinner had two of the team’s four interceptions, with Drew Nadon and Ryley Nadon picking up the others.
In other action, a one-touchdown effort from quarterback Steve Hynes was all the Golden Gophers needed in a 7-2 win against the Raiders.
Rob Myrden was the recipient of the touchdown throw.
Hynes notched two picks on the defensive side of the ball, while Fred Prosper had one. Matt Noseworthy recorded a sack.
Colin Lynch’s two rouges and a pick by Colin Dunphy were the only real highlights for the Raiders.
In the day’s other game, Ryan Barry threw three touchdowns — to Andrew Peckford, Josh Inniss and Peter Rose — as the Broncos beat the Pirates 22-14.
Daniel Hillier and Rose both had two-point conversions, while Barry came away with a pick.
Greg Whalen threw two touchdowns in the loss, with Jeff Mitchell and Mark Gillis grabbing those. Gillis also had a two-point conversion.
Phil Oake hurried Barry all day, picking up four sacks in the process. Whalen registered an interception.
