Taking a surpise trip to St. Pierre-et-Miqueline off the beaten path and seeing the excitement that it brought as the media jumped on board once they found out the Grey Cup was around.

Seeing the smiles on the faces of the children with every stop, whether it was a Quarterback Club event or a motivational speech from the players at a local school.
A youth tackle football league being born on the west coast of the province.
It was one of the best trips of his life.
That’s how the Ottawa Redblacks owner summed up his feelings about the Grey Cup Tour in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Brad Sinopoli and Greg Ellingson, star wide receivers for the 2017 Grey Cup champions, joined Hunt and several of his staff for a tour that saw stops in Corner Brook, Labrador “Even the players said to me it was one of the best trips they’ve ever been on, “ Hunt said.
Hunt’s visit back to Labrador City to check out his old high school was one of the best parts of the trip.
Back in 1981 while he was attending high school Gerry Organ, a former Ottawa Roughriders star was a guest speaker at a school function and Hunt was sitting in the audience.
This is where Jeff caught the football bug. It was at this time he decided he would become a Roughriders fan and little did he know that it would be part of the journey that allowed him to become a big player in the game when he moved to Ottawa and created R Nation.
He has never forgotten his roots. He’s glad he got to share the team’s success with people from all over the province.
He’s also happy to know that there will be youth playing football in Corner Brook because it’s a great game that can teach boys and girls so many things about life.
Being a busy man involved with running three pro teams (soccer, hockey and football) doesn’t afford him the time to get back to the province on a regular basis.
But, he had a great time and he’s pretty sure he will find a reason to come back.
