The two-day hockey celebration is scheduled for Nov. 21-22 at the civic centre in Corner Brook. The celebration gets underway on Saturday at 12 noon from the civic centre and concludes Sunday night following the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party.
The game features the New York Islanders taking on the Montreal Canadiens with a special pre-game show hosted live on site by Ron MacLean from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio beginning at 8 p.m. NT on Sportsnet, alongside Tara Slone.
Sportsnet Be a Broadcaster, Scotiabank Community Locker Room and the Dodge Stow ‘n Go Challenge for a chance to win a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan and $5,000 for a local minor hockey association is just a sample of the various things hockey fans from all walks of life can enjoy during the tour stop.
Leading up to the celebrations in Corner Brook, local minor hockey teams have an opportunity to win the ultimate hockey experience as part of the Cheer Like Never Before contest.
Teams can upload a video of their team cheer, with the top five vote-getters invited to take part in the festivities when the Tour hits the city. The winning team in each town will then be in the running for a chance to win the trip of a lifetime that includes tickets to an NHL game, VIP Game Day Experience and perform their team cheer in an NHL dressing room.
