It begins with Cole and fellow Hockey Night in Canada veteran Ron MacLean, who wrote the foreword, appearing at Chapters on Kenmount Road for a book signing and "in conversation with ..." session between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Then, between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the two will be at Bridie Molloy's on George Street in downtown St. John's for a by-invitation get-together to celebrate the launch.
Cole began calling games on VOCM in St. John's before joining CBC in 1969. Since then, he has provided the voice for some of the most famous games in hockey history, including the Canada-Russia Summit Series, matchups between the Red Army and NHL teams, Olympic gold-medal finals and Stanley Cup playoff contests.
In 1996, Cole was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and received the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for broadcasting excellence in hockey.
Earlier this year, the 83-year-old Cole was invested into the Order of Canada.
