User groups at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex can expect to be back on the ice Wednesday.

The Deer Lake hockey facility was closed down Friday after town officials ran into a problem with the chiller.

All minor hockey, figure skating and Friday night’s West Coast Senior Hockey League game between the Deer Lake Red Wings and Port aux Basques Mariners was postponed because of the ice issue.

Recreation director Junior Pinksen said Monday parts required to get the chiller running again have been ordered from the United States.

Work was expected to start as early as Monday night with Pinksen confident the work will be completed in time to open the doors to the Hodder on Wednesday.
