DEER LAKE — Dawn Tulk couldn’t have written a better script.

The talented Deer Lake native scored five goals to lead Deer Lake to a 6-4 win over Twillingate in the showdown for gold at the provincial Under-20 female D hockey championship Sunday afternoon.

Tulk was playing in her last year of eligibility for female hockey so she leaves with a gold medal dangling around her neck.

Becky Maher — with an assist going to Tulk —also scored for Deer Lake at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex Sunday afternoon.

Julia Williams — player of the game for Deer Lake — was stellar in recording the goaltending win for the Deer Lake squad.

Jayna Clarke (2), Andrea Roberts and Jade Roberts supplied the goals for the Twillingate Minor Hockey Association representatives.
