Jacob Christie, Patrick McInnis and Ben Allison struck for the Whalers, who would end up losing the championship game to Fredericton.
Jacob Oake supplied the lone Kings goal.
In action from Friday, the Kings trounced the Kings Mutual Valley Wildcats from Nova Scotia 7-3 to finish the round-robin portion of the schedule.
Mark Hillier (2), Cameron Costello, Skylar Coates, Mark Randell, Riley Simms and Jesse Hickey did the damage offensively for the victors.
Owen Stockdale, Blake Deacon and Cameron Whynot responded for the Wildcats.

Zachary Forsythe (3), Giffin Abbott, Isaac Chapman and Dawson Wood filled the net for the Wildcats in the win.
