Consider this past weekend a hard lesson learned.

The last-place Kings (0-25-0-0) were unable to stop the league-leading St. John’s Hitmen (20-4-1-1) from invading their net as they dropped all three games played over the weekend at the Corner Brook Civic Centre.

The closest game was a 10-2 defeat that saw Josh Hann and Lucas Pittman get on the board for the Kings — the only two goals the team would record all weekend. Colby House provided a pair of assists.

Liam Bridger had a hat trick in the Hitmen, while Kirk Edwards (2), Charles Walsh, Logan Cuza, James Stamp, Ronan Whitten and Thomas Chafe did the rest of the damage.

The other two weekend games saw the Kings beaten 15-0 and 10-0.

The Kings will be back in action this weekend when they tangle with TriPen at the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts.
