The Corner Brook Royals games for the upcoming season will return to CFCB this season.

“We’re excited to be able to do that, and to have two very talented hockey insiders to bring the game to the listeners on CFCB," said Royals president Ross Coates.

Dale Fry will join the team to deliver the play-by-play and Barry Wheeler of NL Hockey Talk will provide colour commentary.

Fry, a lifelong hockey fan, has plenty of play-by-play experience, having called games in Clarenville during the 2004-05 season and several Herder Championship games.

“I subscribe to the Bob Cole philosophy of hockey,” said Fry. “I plan to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.”

Wheeler founded the blog and online fan forum Newfoundland Hockey Talk ten years ago, and is a self-described super-fan who’s thrilled to be part of the Royals’ return to Corner Brook.

“It allows me to bring a unique perspective to the game that isn’t steeped in bias. I have a reputation for telling it as I see it,” he says.
