Mariners edge Falcons in touch football play

Harry Patterson threw one touchdown and a one-point convert pass on Sunday to lead Marine Lounge to an 8-6 decision over the Falcons in Corner Brook Coors Light Touch Football League action at Wellington Street Sports Complex.

David Alexander had the touchdown reception, while Steve Perry caught the one-point play.

Adam Anderson kicked a one-point rogue in the second half for the victors.

Falcons quarterback Josh Skinner used his legs to pick up the lone touchdown in the losing cause.

Drew Nadon came away with the pick on defence for the Falcons, while Miguel Jones provided relentless pressure on the pass rush, recording three sacks.

In the day’s other game, the Veitch Wellness Centre Golden Gophers downed the Winmar Raiders 12-8.
