Memorial forward Nathan Barker of Corner Brook was selected a second-team all-star when the Atlantic University Sport basketball all-star teams were announced recently.
Barker, a sophmore with the Sea-Hawks, was the second-leading scorer for the Memorial men’s team with a 16.4 average (guard Daniel Gordon (18.9) topped the Sea-Hawks) and was the team’s third-leading rebounder, averaging 4 ½ per game.
Barker is joined as an all-star by Memorial’s Sydney Stewart (second team) and Cameron Longley (all-rookie). The all-star announcements came two days before the start of the AUS playoff tournaments that get underway today in Halifax.
Both Memorial teams are involved in the post-season, with both facing the Saint Mary’s Huskies in Friday quarter-final matchups.
