Two elite runners from the west coast made their way to the medal podium at the 2018 St. John’s Triathlon.

Corner Brook’s Carl Barrett, a die-hard triathlete who has been known to share his wisdom and knowledge with newbies to the sport, finished second overall in the Olympic triathlon with a final clocking of two hours, 22 minutes and 14 seconds.

The winner of the race was Tyler Cole, who crossed the finish line in two hours, 18 minutes and 11 seconds.

Meanwhile, Steady Brook native Heidi Perry finished second overall and first on the female side in the Sprint Triathlon (half the distance of the Olympic) with a final clocking of one hour, 22 minutes and seven seconds.
