Bishop’s Falls, Happy Valley-Goose Bay claim crowns

Ronnie Penney, Travis Champion and Cody Taylor found the back of the net for Bishop’s Falls on Saturday in a 3-1 triumph over Stephenville to claim the Broomball NL Senior Provincial Championship at the Stephenville Dome.

Alex Hillier produced the Corner Brook goal.

In the other semifinal, Stephenville blanked Happy Valley-Goose Bay 3-0.

Jeff Stuckless, Drew Nadon and Alexander were the goalscorers in the win.

In the female final, Kellie Way’s goal stood up as the only one in the championship game as Happy Valley-Goose Bay defeated Twin Town 1-0.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay punched their ticket to the final with a 1-0 win over Stephenville in which Katrina Anderson scored.

Twin Town downed Western Sabres 2-1 in the other semifinal.

Dwana Dobbin and Pam Billard did the damage for the victors.

Megan Carroll responded in the losing cause.
