The Los Angeles Lakers retired Kobe Bryant’s jersey and the two numbers he wore with the team on Monday night.

St. John’s Edge guard Carl English took the opportunity to recall the times he played against Bryant in FIBA Americas Championship and Olympic tune-up games, with English suiting up for Canada’s senior men’s team against the United States, whose lineup included the Lakers' star — "the best I've ever played against," said English.
English (@cenglish23) Tweeted out an image of the two up against each other in one of those contests, noting the ever-confident Bryant face-guarded (the use of a hand, often in waving ,to disruipt a shooter's vision) all game and “made choo-choo train noises” in his ear.
