The team finished 16th overall in the team competition that featured 47 entries from across Canada and converged on the capital for six days.

Harnum and George showed they can work well together as a team as they caught people’s attention with their second-place finish in the Over-50 tandem event.

Hillier had the best showing of the five in the individual competition placing 77th overall, while Way was 93rd overall and Harnum nailed down 132nd spot. George placed 149th in the individual event and Boudreau was listed at 158th in the final results.

The Corner Brook firefighters won silver in the relay event and finished fourth overall at the 2017 provincial Firefit Challenge held in Conception Bay South earlier this year to earn the right to attend the national competition.
