Joey Companion drained 31 points to lead Corner Brook Regional High to a 98-91 win over Pasadena Academy to claim gold at the West Coast Provincial Under-17 Basketball Championship Saturday in Pasadena.
Ben Maynard collected 16 points for the winners at Pasadena Academy gymnasium, while tournament MVP Mitchell Rose added 13 to the scoring parade.
Aaron O'Brien, top defensive player of the tournament, had a game-high 36 points to lead the charge for Pasadena.
Justin Manuel (10) and Josh Lake (9) also had productive outings for Pasadena.

Nigel Lewis paved the way for the winners with a 26-point outing, while Jordan Maloney threw in 12.

Mitchell Rose was the top performer for the winners with a 23-point outing, while Joey Companion threw in 12 and Evan Burton and Brenden Gale added eight apiece in a winning cause.
Nigel Lewis (24) and David Skeard (14) were the top shooters for the central Newfoundland representatives.

Nigel Lewis (20), Zack Warford (18) and Jordan Malone (9) were the top performers for the winners.
