Skaters are putting the finishing touches on their programs.

Elladj Balde is ready to entertain.

March 29 is a big night for members of the Deer Lake Skating Club, who will share the ice with Balde — a Canadian men’s singles skater — at the annual ice show at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex.

The show gets underway at 6 p.m., with members of the club looking forward to showing family and friends some of the neat things they learned during the past skating season.

It’s a time to relax and have fun. It’s a great break from the long training they endure all year long in an effort to be among the best in their age group.

Lights, music and lots of spins and jumps.

Savour the moment. It’s time to shine.
