The annual BMO Financial Downtown Dash will go ahead this evening in Corner Brook.
The five-kilometre run is a suitable event for the beginner runner, as well as for the more experienced ones. There are also kids runs of .5-km and 2.5-km, as well as the major event.
Because of construction work on the usual course location on Park Street and West Street, the race will have a new look this year.
Participants will start at the BMO parking lot on Main Street and heads towards Riverside Drive, where runners will turn left at the second road entrance to the Pollett Building and run to the far end of that building, circle the building clockwise and return to Riverside Drive, then head left and continue approximately 485-metres to the turnaround point.
From there, runners will come back along Riverside Drive to the start/finish area back at the BMO parking lot on Main Street.
The .5-km kids run begins at 6 p.m., followed by the 2.5-km kids run at 6:15 p.m. The main 5-km full distance Downtown Dash is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
