There was no stopping the Templeton Academy Tigers over the weekend in Baie Verte.

The Tigers won all four games they played en route to a gold-medal performance at the West Coast Provincial Grade 11 Boys basketball tournament at Copper Ridge Academy.

The Tigers earned the championship with a 73-66 win over Exploits Valley High in the final.

They cemented their place in the gold-medal game after defeating Elwood Regional High 58-50 in a semifinal affair.

Exploits beat Viking Trail Academy 51-46 in the other semifinal.

Templeton actually started the tournament with a 70-50 triumph over that same Exploits Valley team, before knocking off the host club 68-48 in their other contest.

Elwood finished at 2-2 after picking up a 67-54 win against Pasadena and dropping a 61-60 decision to Viking Trail. They bested Copper Ridge Academy in the quarter-final round 73-53.

Pasadena couldn’t get off the ground in this tournament, dropping all three of their games. It started with the loss to Elwood, before they were beaten 60-50 by Viking Trail, and then 66-46 by Exploits Valley in the quarter-finals.
