Samsome leads J.J. Curling to victory

Ethan Samsome had a team-high 10 points on Thursday to power the host J.J. Curling team to a 55-25 triumph over Immaculate Heart of Mary in action from the 2014 Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association’s West Coast Provincial Grade 6 Boys championship.

In other action, C.C. Loughlin defeated Pasadena 45-18.

Logan Rafferty led all C.C. Loughlin scorers with nine points.

Ethan Hicks had six points for the losing side.

Later in the evening, Templeton downed Immaculate Heart of Mary 64-49.

James Combon drained 23 points for the victors.

Aria Kazerouni’s 19 points was the top performance for Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Action resumes 3:30 p.m. today when Humber Elementary meets Millcrest.
