Competitive figure skaters spend long hours on the ice several times per week in an effort to be the best they can be.
They work hard on the ice and they train vigorously away from the rink.
It’s not uncommon for young skaters to complete some twists and jumps early in the morning before rushing off to school.
They hang out with each other away from the rink as much as they do at the stadium. It is a bond they share and celebrate because it makes them a close-knit group.
There is always reward for hard work.
This season has been a stellar one for several skaters from the west coast.
Some of the top male and female skaters from this region will represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2018 Atlantic Skating Championships April 6-8 in Halifax and we wanted to introduce them to you.
