Perry Alexander was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored as the Veitch Ultramar Hawks kicked off the 2018 Provincial Senior Club Championship Tournament with a 7-5 win versus the West Side Monarchs at Jubilee Field on Thursday night.

Garrett Anderson also drove in a pair of runs in the win in a 1-for-3 effort with a run scored.

Matt Prosper went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss.

Cory Lockyer earned the win after scattering nine hits over seven innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) and one walk, with four strikeouts.

Kevin Farrell took the loss, giving up 2 runs (one earned) on four hits. He struck out four and walked two.

The following are scores of other round-robin tournament games over the weekend: Feildians 8, Veitch Wellness Aces 3; Gonzaga Vikings 10, West Side Monarchs 0; Wing’n It Marlins 20, Feildians 11; Marlins 13, Aces 6; and Vikings 15, Hawks 3.

The tournament final is scheduled to take place tonight at Jubilee Field.
