Feildians dominant in sweep of Western at Wellington

CORNER BROOK  Felly Elonda scored three goals to lead Feildians to a 9-3 victory over BMO Western in provincial U16 boys soccer league play Sunday.

David Goulding had a two-goal game for the winners, who recorded the weekend sweep after opening the road trip with a 5-1 triumph over the western boys Saturday night at Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Jordan Robbins, Matthew McCarthy, Erduan Limani and Emmanuel Dolo also scored for Feildians in Sunday’s convincing win.

Logan McIsaac scored for the host team, who also got credited for an own goal in the second half.

On Saturday, Felly Elonda notched a three-goal performance to lead the charge for Feildians.

Erduan Limani and Emmanuel Dolo also scored for the winners.

Logan McIsaac was the lone marksman for the Western side.

Western, who holds down third spot in the standings behind Feildians, will have two weeks to regroup before hosting Mount Pearl for two games at Wellington.

The top four teams advance to the playoff round.
