Brianna McKenzie, left, of the Under-18s races towards the ball against Clancy’s Pub’s Sarah Gaudon during women’s soccer league playoff action on Wednesday night at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Clancy’s Pub will get another crack at the Island Orthotics Curling Rangers.
Jessica Fradsham scored the official winner, while Abigail Penton provided the actual dagger as the Stephenville-based pub club defeated the Under-18s 4-0 on Wednesday night at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Kristen Cooze and Taylor Fradsham also found the back of the net for the victors.
Susan Fowlow recorded the clean sheet.
The victory gives the pub club a berth into the Corner Brook Women’s Soccer League championship game 4 p.m. on Saturday against the Rangers. The Rangers earned their spot in the final by defeating the pub club in an earlier playoff contest between the two top-ranked teams.
After a scoreless first half, Jessica Fradsham struck in the 54th minute to put her side up by a goal.
That 1-0 score remained the same until the 80th minute, when Penton all but put it away.
Cooze buried one in the 90th minute, before Taylor Fradsham’s marker came in injury time to make it a 4-0 final.
The Under-18s will play one more game as well, the third-place match against Shoppers Drug Mart Hawks at 2 p.m. Saturday.
