Challenge Cup schedule released

The new Molson Challenge Cup provincial senior men’s soccer season is on the horizon, with the schedule officially being released late last week.

Six teams are back in the fold again this year, including Steers Insurance Corner Brook United FC, which made its return to the league last season after an extended absence.

Other clubs include, Holy Cross Kirby Group, St. Lawrence Labatt Laurentians, Mount Pearl First Choice Haircutters, Conception Bay South That Pro Look Strikers, and Feildians Ernst & Young.

The NLSA 2017 Canada Games Team will also play all teams twice for a total of 12 games. These games are deemed exhibition, however, the points will count for the Challenge Cup teams.

Corner Brook United opens its season on the weekend of May 14-15, with a pair of games at Wellington Street Sports Complex against the Conception Bay South.
