Several prospects for the Western Knights minor midget hockey team for the three-team provincial league participate were on the ice for open tryouts for the team this past weekend at the Corner Brook Civic Centre.

A total of 34 players, including four goalies, participated in a number of on-ice sessions to see if they could impress coach Jamie Brake.

The final open tryouts are scheduled for Saturday (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2:30-3:30 p.m.) and Sunday (10-11 a.m.) at the Corner Brook Civic Centre.
