As an extremely concerned motorist who has witnessed a very close call and fear being run off the road on a daily basis I would simply like to know why the RCMP in Deer Lake seem unable to control a potentially deadly situation on their own door step. I am refering to the stretch of the Viking trail near the Humber River where there is a major tourist attraction on one side of the road and a R V park on the other. Routinely moterist in all types of veichles large and small are blasting through a 50km/h zone at highway speeds not considering the fact there is traffic turning in either direction and children playing in the area and crossing what most parrents would consider to be a safe area. Will it take the death of an innocent child to slow people down here or will something more than an occasional token patrol be done to keep this death trap safe?
