ST. JOHN’S, NL – Argentia Gold Corporation’s proposed cannabis production facility has been released from environmental assessment by the provincial government.
The decision was announced in an environmental assessment bulletin released by the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment today, May 17.
The approval is conditional based on the submission and approval of a waste management plan and a pesticide management plan to the department’s pollution prevention division before cannabis is introduced to the facility, the bulletin noted.
Argentia Gold is aiming to start production of medical marijuana at an 80,000-square-foot hydroponic facility this fall. The company is planning to refurbish an existing building in the Argentia Industrial Park.
