Representatives from Fortis Inc. including president and CEO Barry Perry are headed to Ontario next week to celebrate more than 30 years of the Newfoundland-based utility corporation trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).
The company will open trading on the TSX next Tuesday morning.
Fortis started trading on the TSX on Dec. 29, 1987 when each Newfoundland Light & Power Co. Limited common share was exchanged for one common Fortis share.
The price of each share was worth $4.69 on the first day.
Fast forward to Nov. 22 and Fortis’ share price has reached $46,24, a total shareholder return of over 4,000 per cent.
