Husky Energy, majority owners of the White Rose field, is reporting another discovery in the area.

The company announced that an exploration well drilled roughly 10 kilometres north of the SeaRose Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in the second quarter of this year encountered more than 85 metres of oil-bearing sandstone.

The company says it is still evaluating the discovery.

Meanwhile, Husky also announced a find in a block in the South China Sea, about 160 kilometres from Hong Kong, and the signing of two new production sharing contracts in the Beibu Gulf area of the same body of water.
