N.L.’s Kendra MacDonald appointed as inaugural Ocean Supercluster CEO

Kendra MacDonald, currently the chair and acting CEO for the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology Industries (NATI), has been named the inaugural CEO for Canada’s Ocean Supercluster.

MacDonald, originally from Ontario, has held a number of leadership roles in various organizations around the world over the last 20 years. Most recently, she was the first Chief Audit Executive for Deloitte Global and was responsible for building internal audit function for Global. During this time, she also maintained a role as Atlantic Risk Advisory Partner for Deloitte LLP in St. John’s, a position she held since 2010. She’s also the Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, BioCanRX.

The Ocean Supercluster is a private sector and industry-led collaboration of largely Atlantic Canadian companies of varying sizes and sector focuses. The goal is to foster new partnerships between industry, academia, indigenous groups, and government in an effort to accelerate innovation, commercialization and economic growth in ocean based sector.

MacDonald succeeds Dalhousie University vice-president Matt Hebb, who was named interim CEO in earlier this year.
