The deadline had come and gone, but the Town of Stephenville didn’t get any response to requests for proposals for the lease and operation of the Stephenville Industrial Facility.
The purpose of the request was to identify an entity with financial capacity and a development plan that would benefit the entity and the town from an economic aspect and provide jobs and commerce opportunities for the citizens of the town and surrounding areas.

Town manager Mike Campbell said the town does know if there is interest in the Stephenville Industrial Facility, but he’s not sure why there was no response this time around.
He said the town will look at putting out another Request for Proposals sometime in the future.
The facility is the refurbished former paper shed for the former linerboard mill in Stephenville, located near the Port Harmon dock facility. The building’s latest use was for storage of materials relating to the Maritime Link project, and prior to that it was utilized in the fabrication of several decks for the Hebron oil and gas project.
The 100,000-square-foot warehouse building is newly refurbished and has three 30-ton overhead cranes.
