On Tuesday, Nov. 27 the Lewisporte RCMP held their official tree lighting ceremony for the ninth annual Wish Tree in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation.

To date Lewisporte RCMP has raised $39,143.58, enough to grant four wishes.

Two $500 donations were received at this year’s tree lighting ceremony – one from Lewisporte Shriners and the other from Lewisporte Area Consumers Co-Op.

The Lewisporte RCMP Wish Tree fundraising will continue until Dec. 31.

Cindy Primmer is the Wish Tree liaison for Lewisporte RCMP and has been serving on the local Children’s Wish Foundation Committee for approximately 11 years.

This year the Wish Tree started out with 200 red bulbs. Every $25 raised turns a bulb from red to white. The Lewisporte detachment is dreaming of a white Christmas for their Wish Tree.
