Jason Reitman has released a new photo from the Alberta set of the Ghostbusters 2020, which is being shot under the name Rust City.

The director posted the picture on Twitter and wrote: “The family’s all here.” It includes Reitman, his father Ivan and stars Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard. It is believed that Coon plays the single mom of characters played by Grace and Wolfhard.

Ivan Reitman directed the original 1984 Ghostbusters film and its 1989 sequel. He is listed as a producer for Ghostbusters 2020 on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).

The exact location of Reitman’s photo was not revealed. High River Online reported on Tuesday that officials with the Town of Turner Valley have confirmed filming will be taking place at the old Turner Valley Gas Plant sometime this week.

The film is also expected to be shot in Calgary, near Drumheller and in Crossfield. The Crossfield shoot will take place between July 26 and Aug. 24.

Sigourney Weaver, who was in the 1984 original, have been confirmed for the cast, as has Paul Rudd.

It’s rumoured that original stars Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Dan Aykroyd, who is listed as an executive producer, will return.

Meanwhile, the grinning Reitmans were spotted (by me) wandering down 17th Ave. last week, presumably in the grip of Stampede fever.

The film is expected to wrap in October for a July 2020 release.
