Our entire school went skating at the Pepsi Centre on Tuesday morning. This was sponsored again this year by the Knights of Columbus. We also enjoyed a drink and snack after skating.

On Wednesday morning we attended Mass at All Hallows, hosted class parties, and a school variety show.

The Stockings for Seniors, Firefighter’s Toy Drive, and the Allergy Free Food Drive ended this week.

We would like to thank everyone who supported the IHMS Winter Wonderland Live and Silent Auction last weekend. We raised a total of 4,059.00 for the school Physical Education Department.

Rebecca Janes was invited as a grade six representative from our school for the annual Food Drive for the Food Bank. Rebecca travelled around the city with the RNC to collect and deliver food donations.

Class News

The junior kindergarten classes made special gifts for their moms and dads and reindeer food to sprinkle outside on Christmas eve. They are looking forward to Santa’s visit.

Mrs. Hodder’s Kindergarten English class enjoyed the skating party sponsored by the Knights of Columbus on Tuesday morning. They would like to wish their families a Merry Christmas. Joyeux Noel.

Mrs. George’s grade one English class had a great time at the skating party. They enjoyed watching the variety show on Wednesday afternoon. They would like to wish our readers a very Merry Christmas.

Mme. Ryan’s grade one and two French Immersion class is super excited for Christmas break! They worked really hard on a Christmas gift for their families. Joyeuses Noel!

Ms. Cunning’s grade two English class greatly enjoyed all the Christmas activities this week. They had a special class party on Wednesday morning. They hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year.

Mme. Moss’ grade three, four, five and six French Immersion class are sad to be “wrapping” up their trip around the world, but they are so delighted by all the awesome Christmas traditions that they celebrated. They are excited to enjoy their own traditions as Christmas approaches.

Mrs. Bishop’s grade three class is excited for Christmas break to finally be here! They have spent the last week finishing their parents’ gifts. They turned out great! They are very excited for their parents to see them.

Ms. Guy’s grade four class is excited to prepare for the Christmas holiday. They had a secret Santa gift exchange as part of their class party.

Mr. Ryley’s grade five class is very excited for the Christmas break. The students have been enjoying doing STEM activities.

Mrs. McCarthy’s grade six class was very excited to have a secret Santa gift exchange during their class party on Wednesday. The class would like to thank the Al-Zubaidy family who donated a pizza party for the last day of school.

Mr. Drew Nadon’s grade seven and eight class concluded their assignment on the Christmas truce. The class enjoyed their secret Santa gift exchange and part on Wednesday.

Mr. Hancock’s grade nine to level three class is looking forward to the Christmas break. Students performed monologues in language arts class this week as part of a unit on Speaking and Listening.

School will re-open on Monday, January 8, 2018. Happy Holidays, everyone!
