CORNER BROOK, N.L. — The Corner Brook Museum and Archives on West Street held a kid’s sculpture workshop in Corner Brook on Aug. 13.
Participants learned that museums will often make replicas of artifacts that are one of kind, very fragile or that can’t be transported to use in displays.
The children in the workshop got to make maquette, or test sculptures of some of the museum’s unexhibited artifacts. They included a pair of rollerskates, a wartime field phone, scales, a gun and a test sculpture of Morgan MacDonald’s danger tree.
