CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Get ready to get your geek on.

The Atlanti-Con Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival will be taking over the Corner Brook Civic Centre Studio this weekend.

Now in its eighth year, the festival will feature two and half days of discussion panels, workshops, question and answer sessions, game play, cosplay, demonstrations and more.

Guests for this year’s event, which runs from Friday to Sunday, include Chase Masterson from Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Doctor Who and The Flash, who will visit on Sunday only; Ariel Marsh, comics illustrator with Ink'd Well Comics and Engen Books; Foamwerx Cosplay — Gary Murrin and Hamilton Cornish and the Atlanti-Con’s favourite master of ceremonies, Fat Apollo.

This year’s con will have 47 exhibitor booths.

New this year is a project with the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador to include sensory times where the lights will be dimmed and the music turned off to help those with sensory issues acclimate to the venue.

There will also be a sensory room onsite for people who need to escape the crowd and overload of input. Caregivers for people who require them will be admitted to the festival for free.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased at Empire Atlantic on Herald Avenue and at the door.

Some of what will be happening at Atlanti-Con:

•    Creating maps and terrains for gaming

•    Superhero story time for kids by the Corner Brook Public Library

•    LGBTQ+ representation in gaming and cosplay

•    Q&A sessions with all of the guests
