The Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador (EDFNL) has issued its annual application call for the Renata Elizabeth Withers Memorial Scholarship.
The two scholarships, valued at $1,000 a piece, were established by the Withers family in memory of Renata, who died in 2005 after struggling with an eating disorder.
To be eligible, applicants must currently be enrolled in a course of study from a recognized post-secondary institution within Newfoundland and Labrador. The competition is open to undergraduate and post-graduate students with an interest in eating disorders.
“Applicants course of study should be, broadly speaking, related to eating disorders with a plan to continue this work in the health or education field,” executive director Paul Thomey stated in a release.
The application window is open until 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11. The winners will be announced at the EDFNL annual general meeting on Feb, 7.
