Is Keanu Reeves ready to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Because whenever he’s game to play a superhero — or a villain — they’d love to have him.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige is currently doing the press rounds for Spider-Man: Far From Home and the studio president was asked about the possibility of Reeves, who is having a moment thanks to the success of John Wick: Chapter 3 and scene-stealing roles in Always Be My Maybe and Toy Story 4 , joining the MCU.

“We talk to him for almost every film we make,” Feige told comicbook.com . “I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”

Marvel has a track record of giving unconventional roles to A-list stars.

Indie star Jake Gyllenhaal plays the villain Mysterio in the Spidey sequel, while Angelina Jolie has been tapped to lead Marvel’s upcoming adaption of The Eternals — a film, coincidentally, Reeves has been rumoured to be joining.

The action star, now 54, appeared as John Constantine in a 2005 version of the DC Comics character, but even though there’s been talk in the past of him jumping into the wide world of Marvel, nothing has ever come to fruition.

In a 2014 interview, the Sun asked Reeves to weigh in on chatter that he was about to sign on for Doctor Strange (a role that eventually went to Benedict Cumberbatch).

“I don’t know the character Doctor Strange ,” he said. “I need to go brush up.”

Later in the same conversation, we quizzed him on which Marvel hero he’d want to take on and he picked perhaps the most famous X-Men character.

“Back in the day I wanted to play Wolverine,” Reeves laughed. “But that was a long time ago, and they’ve got a really good Wolverine now.”

But fast forward five years and guess what, Keanu, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is retired and it won’t be long until the X-Men is rebooted.

There might still be time for you yet.
