SPRINGDALE, N.L.

The Supported Employment NL (SENL) conference was held in Springdale this year with a series of sessions to support inclusivity in the province’s workforce.
The conference also resulted in Advanced Education, Skills and Labour Minister Al Hawkins signing a proclamation to mark October as Disability Employment Awareness Month.
SENL comprises several non-profit groups that promote employment for persons with disabilities in Newfoundland and Labrador. Running from Sept. 25-28, conference presentations included the provincial Organization for Women Entrepreneurs, the Workforce Innovation Centre and the inclusive workforce project Hire for Talent.
According to an emailed response from the Green Bay Community Employment Corp., who hosted the event, SENL offices across the province will be organizing events around the announced Disability Employment Awareness Month.
