Members of the Bay St. George RCMP are investigating an armed robbery which was reported at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Sunday at Stephenville Ultramar on Main Street.

Corp. John Butler said an individual with face covered and with a weapon entered the store demanding money and took an undisclosed amount of cash and other merchandise and then departed the store.

Where it’s an ongoing investigation, Butler wouldn’t say what type of weapon was used or the merchandise stolen.

He said there was no vehicle seen in the area and that the suspect fled on foot. The employee was shaken up but unhurt physically.
