A man rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after a downtown assault has been stabilized, Calgary police say.
Acting Insp. Scott McCann said police were initially called to the CTrain line near 7th Street and 7th Avenue S.W. around 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon for reports of a disturbance.
McCann said a fight occurred between two men just outside of a train and one of the men had to be rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition. His condition, McCann added, has been stabilized as of Friday evening.
It’s believed no weapons were involved.
AHS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux said an adult male had been transported to Foothills hospital.
Police are continuing to review CCTV footage and are looking for a suspect involved.
He is described as a black man in his mid 30s, 5-ft.-8 in height.
The suspect was seen wearing a black jacket with a light brown hoodie underneath, green cargo pants, and black boots. He was also carrying a skateboard.
CTrain lines were halted for an hour in the core as police investigated, but were reopened roughly an hour after the incident.
