While there has never been an arrest in the case, the Crown has successfully argued for the retention of materials collected during the investigation into the disappearance of Jennifer Hillier-Penney.
Crown attorney Trina Simms was granted all three of her applications by Justice George Murphy in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in Corner Brook Thursday morning.
The items were seized by the RCMP after the police began looking into the whereabouts of Hillier-Penney, who was reported missing from St. Anthony in late November 2016 and has never been located.
Murphy’s ruling allows investigators to retain the items seized until at least Dec. 15, 2019.
