Diversity Summit 2018 is in full swing at the civic centre in Corner Brook.

The multi-day conference has brought together industry leaders and community stakeholders from across Newfoundland and Labrador to discuss the opportunities and challenges of immigration and growing cultural diversity in the province.

Diversity Summit 2018 will focus on diversity in the tech sector, with its theme of “Digitize, Diversify, Connect” building on the same theme of digitization in business as BDC’s Small Business Week that is also happening this week.

The summit, which opened Monday evening and runs until Wednesday, will serve as a pan-provincial forum to explore the intersection of technology, diversity, and the small-business economy.

The event features a number of guest speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions. Unfortunately, Wajahat Ali, who was scheduled to deliver the conference’s keynote address today, was unable to make it to Corner Brook because of adverse weather hampering his travel plans.
