Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador can apply online for domestic cutting permits beginning Jan. 2, 2019. Permits will also be available via email.
Individuals renewing their personal domestic cutting permits online will require the nine-digit permit number found on their previous permit, as well as a valid credit card for payment. To complete the process, permit holders will also be required to input harvesting information from the previous year.
To renew online, residents must have received a valid domestic cutting permit in the previous year, and must not have any outstanding fines (forestry, traffic, etc.); must not be applying for the senior age discount for the first time; and must not require changes to their helper information (if applicable).
When renewing online, residents may choose between receiving their domestic cutting permit via email (usually within 24 to 48 hours), or via postal mail (usually within five to 10 business days). In addition to calling or visiting a Forest Management District office, residents will have the option of communicating directly via email.
