A structure fire caused some anxious moments early Sunday morning with callers to 911 reporting multiple explosions.
When firefighters arrived on scene on Franklyn Avenue just after 3 a.m., they found a backyard shed on fire. Firefighters quickly ran some hoses down a narrow alley leading to the blaze and hose down the burning shed.
Platoon chief Gina Burke told The Telegram that the sounds heard by residents reporting the fire were likely containers of combustible materials exploding during the blaze.
Newfoundland Power personnel were called in to check on overhead wires that might have been damaged during the incident.
There were no injuries.
