BISHOP'S FALLS, N.L.

One man is appearing in court in Grand Falls-Windsor today, Oct. 22, after an incident involving an allegedly stolen vehicle on Friday.

According to a release issued by the RCMP the afternoon of Oct. 22, members from the Grand Falls-Windsor detachment were patrolling Route 350 just after 5 p.m. Oct. 19 when they saw a vehicle matching the desciption of one reported stolen in Corner Brook the day before speed by. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.

Shortly thereafter, a single-vehicle crash in Bishop's Falls was reported. The vehicle's occupants were four young males, some of whom were trapped inside. Paramedics and firefighters responded to the call and removed all occupants from the vehicle, before taking them to the Central Newfoundland Health Centre for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver is facing charges including impaired driving by drug causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
