Iron Ore Company of Canada opens Wabush 3 mine

The Iron Ore Company of Canada officially opened its Wabush 3 mine in Labrador West Tuesday.

Premier Dwight Ball and Iron Ore president and CEO Clayton Walker were among those at the event.

Wabush 3 is a new open pit that will extend the life of the current mine by about 50 years, maintaining production of high quality grade iron ore concentrate and pellets, and secure employment, a news release indicated.
