Premier Dwight Ball announced this week that the new Seniors’ Social Inclusion Initiative is accepting applications.

A news release states that recognizing social inclusion provides many benefits for health and well-being, the provincial government has allocated $270,000 for the Seniors’ Social Inclusion Initiative. The initiative supports the delivery of programs and/or participation in community events that promote social inclusion.

“Social events and other community activities provide opportunities for seniors to engage with their peers and others in their communities,” Ball said. “The Seniors’ Social Inclusion Initiative recognizes the importance of these types of activities by providing direct support to 50-plus clubs to continue to carry out their important work in making our communities stronger and more inclusive.”
