If anyone notices what looks like a rescue mission under way near the mouth of the Humber River Saturday, it’s not a real emergency.

The Bay of Islands Search and Rescue Team will be conducting a training exercise in and around Brake's Cove and the Lower Humber River.

The training is scheduled to take place from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Members may be active in the Humber River, along Riverside Drive and on the North Shore Highway towards Prince Edward Park.

The organization is asking people to please slow down for parked emergency vehicles and team members in the area. The general public is welcome to attend and watch, but people are asked please give members space to operate and focus on the exercise.
